log-in cookies cleared all the time

It seems that almost every time I visit this site I have to log-in again. That's a deterrent to using the forums. My computer remembers all the other sites I'm logged into. Why not this one?

Our CMS does in fact have an optional stay-logged-in-on-this-computer module. Now that the century is over, I may perhaps find time to install and test it.
