I'm running for vice chair

Here is my campaign slogan ...I've been a treasurer all my life so I can say with assurance that "I'm not a crook".
My passion for cycling started in 1974 as a commuter to my job as an economist in the new communities program at HUD. I’m still commuting 33 years later to my job at EPA. I’ve been a long time member of PPTC, but
really became active by serving as treasurer from 1998 to 2001. In fact, I’ve served as a treasurer for most of my life: in fraternity (AEP at Temple University), Casa de Maryland, The Bicycle Exchange and even my investment club. So I admit I’ve never been a chair before, with the exception of being president of the Virginia Chapter of the ESOP Association. I’ve had the good fortune of being introduced to tandem cycling by Gabe and Diana Mirkin, and to my surprise, it has taken hold with my better half, Cindy Brandt who also is an artist at the Torpedo Factory. My peak cycling experience was accompanying a group of 10 boy scouts as we cycled across country from Farmington, MO to Astoria, OR. (3063 miles in 63 days). What a way to both see the country and share the experience with a bunch of really good kids. I got a renewed taste of PPTC as I’ve returned to help organize the St Michaels Weekend (April 18 to 20, 2008). I’m impressed with the web site, finances and members on the ExComm. I look forward to the challenge.
