Rock Creek trail

This isn’t the usual post about new hazards or poor conditions, but a complaint about the general condition of this trail that has had little maintenance over the last couple of decades. In my opinion, the single worst hazard on this or any trail is heaved asphalt (the unplanned “speed bump” for which these trails are famous). I worry about these more than pot holes, mud, sand, or any other hazard.
On Saturday, I was leading my Lido Loop ride from Fletcher’s when my group came upon a couple of cyclists by the trail near Oak Hill cemetery. One had evidently crashed with scrapes on his arms. When I first talked with him, he seemed somewhat dazed and from the scrape on his helmet, he obviously hit his head. He was from out of town and was on rented bike. After a couple of minutes, he seemed okay. However, he was lucky that he didn’t have a more serious injury.
