GPX file format for Digital Cue Sheets
Submitted by NicholasTaylor9168 on Tue, 08/19/2008 - 12:44.
I'm curious to know if there is any desire or talk out there of
expanding the cue sheet offerings on PPTC's website. More
specifically, to offer the open-format GPX route files for those of us
who are riding with mapping-capable GPS devices. Now that there are
widely available bike-specific GPS devices on the market (e.g., Garmin
605/705), it seems the time has come for expanding and sharing
"digital cue sheets." I've made a few for some of the regular rides I
go on, but there is no sense in everyone making their own without
sharing.
It wouldn't be difficult to do.. all you would need to do is allow an
upload of the .gpx extension. However, considering that many of the
rides I go on don't even have paper cues posted on the website... this
may not prove that useful.
One last thing--does anyone know if the route has changed from 2007
for this year's historic backroads century? I've found a few '07 GPX
cues that I'd like to use... but no 2008 cue has been posted yet (just
the map pictures).

GPX okay in Cue-Sheet Library
The GPX issue was a simple one to solve. This file format is now accepted for uploading into the Cue-Sheet Library. Feel free to upload your 2007 century GPX files.
As for the Century cues, sometimes they are posted early. However, one reason for not posting them is to ensure there are no last minute changes, e.g. due to weather or construction. It would be terrible for a rider to print the Century cues in advance and then be unaware of important route changes.
If you want to volunteer to ride the route in advance to check the accuracy of the directions and road conditions, please
