seat post bag

hi all...ordered a seatpost bike bag that snaps on and off the post so i have more room for food/gear on longer rides...it arrived yday with the 'caution' to not use the bag on a carbon seatpost, which i have?
is this really something to be heeded...new enough to biking to wonder if the manufacturer is just covering their butt...return the bag?

If it has a clamp or fitting that mounts to the post it can "crush" the carbon post and then one second you are on the seat and the next you are one the ground. The best you can probably do is get a wedge bag that is attached to the saddle rails and only has a velcro strap to go around the post.
