History of Clifton

Handsome manor house built by Griffin Taylor. The land was bought by Warner Washington, a cousin of George Washington. Warner sold it to his son, Warner, Jr., who sold it to Griffin Taylor; Griffin died there. Griffin left the property to his son-in-law, David Hume Allen.
