Ramble through Glen Echo, Fletchers Cove, and Bethesda. Highlights include
Glen Echo Park, Clara Barton House, Macarthur Boulevard, Palisades,
Fletchers Boathouse (bathrooms), C&O Canal, Capital Crescent Trail, Arizona
Avenue Trestle, Dalecarlia Tunnel, Wisconsin Avenue Tunnel, Bethesda Avenue
(donuts/bagels, bathrooms), Bradley Boulevard, Persimmon Tree Road, Glen
Echo, and Cabin John stone-arch bridge. Directions: Beltway (I-495) to River
Road, exit onto River Road (MD 190) east toward DC, after 2 miles right on
Goldsboro Road (traffic light), after 1 mile RIGHT on Macarthur Blvd (yield
sign), and only 0.1 mile to Glen Echo park entrance on left, park in far

Tandem * 35 * MD * 10:00AM * Matapeake State Park .
Tandem Tune-up Ride Joint BBC/WABITS. Use this virtually flat ride to check
out and tune up your tandem and your bodies for the coming tandem year. Ride
through beautiful estates on the Chesapeake and a commercial fishing
community. See houses in which the first floors are airplane hangers! Lunch
at the Kentmor Marina Restaurant. Ride can easily be shortened. Let's have a
great turnout for this early season kickoff ride! Convenient location for
CRABS/WABITS. New tandem teams as well as our existing teams are encouraged
to join us. START: Go across the Bay Bridge and turn at first exit onto Rt.
8 south. Continue on Rt. 8 south for 2.3 miles to Marine Academy Drive. Turn
right on Marine Academy Drive. Make another right into Matapeake State Park.

Mt Airy Spring Demo Day - No Fooling, skip breakfast, come out and
play - we'll have the juice, java, bagels and fresh pastries ready. Our
later 10 AM start time will give you time to grab helmets and shoes. Rides
from the family-friendly 8 miles to the more challenging 38. After the ride
try out some of the new tandems, recumbents and singles, plus other
interesting 2- and 3- wheel toys. New-to, or wannabes get first-hand tips
from the seasoned devotees. After the rides find out more about the club
over a healthy catered lunch, courtesy of Larry and Linda
Black, tandemming since the days of the 10 speed in the 70' s. Got old gear?
Swap with fellow club folk - no fees. Maybe even score a great tandem. There
will be a bunch of tandems, recumbents, trikes, and other toys to try out
all day. START: Mt Airy Bicycles, 4540 Old National Pike, Mt Airy, MD -
Directions: From I-270, Exit 16 (Md 27 - Father Hurley Blvd) East approx 13
miles to MD 144 (Old National Pike), Right at Shell gas station and go ½ mi.
